Baltic amber comes from the Baltic area of Northern Europe around the Baltic Sea. This is where it gets its name. Throughout present-day Scandinavia, fossilized pine resin was exposed to oxidation and formed Baltic amber, sometimes called the gold of the North.
Please note that it is not in the nature of amber stones to be perfect. They are a gift from nature. They include lines and spots, specks, colouration and inclusions, included as the resin flowed from the tree 40 million years ago. These quirks are to be appreciated as natural phenomena, not seen as faults. Amber is totally unlike mineral crystals in feel and appearance. Warm to the touch.
