About Amber
What is Amber?
Amber is the fossilized resin of trees. 40 million years ago, these trees produced copious amounts of resin. Rising sea levels then covered these deposits. The resin aged and hardened to become a fossil, the semi-precious resin gem, we know as amber today.
What will amber do for me?
Amber has natural pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties. It is particularly well known to help with pain of bones and joints. But its positive benefit does not end there. Our customers have reported that amber has helped for many chronic conditions including skin conditions, migraine, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, repetitive strain injuries. Amber can also help ease stress and promotes more restful sleep.
How can I use amber for wellness?
It should be worn against the skin. Ambr works in a similar way to magnetic therapy. The warmth of the skin against the amber will allow the body to benefit from the healing element in amber - succinite. Best results will be had if it is worn 24/7.
What can amber help?
Customers have reported back to us that amber has been helpful in easing the suffering of many complaints such as headaches, rheumatism, insomnia, thyroid problems, throat problems, ear problems, joint inflammation, stress, carpal tunnel, sleep issues, recurring mouth ulcers, repetitive strain injuries, damage from injuries to bones, joints and muscular damage. We caution that amber will not 'cure' a problem. It simply relieves the symptoms. We also caution that it might not help every problem!
Please note that we are not medical professionals and of course medical advice should always be obtained.
Is one colour amber better than another?
No color amber is better than another, in our long experience. It is all amber and will work in the same way regardless of colour. The key is that you leave it against the skin all the time. Traditionally, they were put together in a mix of colours so maybe there is some benefit to this ancient wisdom.
How long does it take amber to work?
Some people find they notice an improvement by the next day. But it can take longer for others. Just like taking a food supplement, you will not feel an immediate effect. We ask adults to commit to wearing it for 3 to 4 weeks.
How long is the amber good for?
The amber itself is good for roughly 2 years, depending on how it is cared for. It can become brittle and faded over time, especially if exposed to soaps and creams, perfumes, chlorine or heat. Please check your amber occasionally for signs of wear and replace if you feel the amber is 'spent'. It will take on a white clouded hue. Clasps can become worn sooner than the amber will and may need to be repaired or replaced.
How do I know if it is genuine amber?
Here at www.ambersos.com, we buy only from reputable suppliers directly from the Baltic area. We test all our deliveries to ensure it is genuine amber. It is not in our interest to sell anything other than genuine Baltic amber because we want you to be happy and benefit from your amber. We are members of the International Amber Association, an honour only given on member recommendation. This obliges us to use nothing else but amber from the Baltic and each purchase receives a trackable numbered certificate.
Can you have a reaction or allergy to amber?
From our experience, a very small number of people, maybe 1 in 500, may develop a localized rash which will clear on the removal of amber. This may have a connection to colophony, a resin sensitivity. Once the amber is removed, the rash subsides, and no ill effects are subsequently reported.
Some people who are highly sensitive to the world around them can feel a sense of dizziness when wearing amber at first. In this case it may need to be avoided. Or introduced slowly for short periods of time. The same folks sometimes get this reaction to other crystals.
Why choose amber from the Baltic?
Amber from the Baltic sea region of Europe contains more succinite than amber from anywhere else in the world. It is thought this gives it its more powerful wellness benefit.
